We have lost our Affrican Gray in Cheadle Hulme (Stockport Cheshire) he flew out the door and ttok off, he answeres to Manic very takative likes femails best if any one finds him can you pls let me know as my daughter is realy worried and very upset it is like losing your family thanks Rose

Seizure of Grey parrots - your help needed!

The World Parrot Trust has published a press release on the recent seizure of 1000 African Grey Parrots in Cameroon that were about to be illegally exported. The World Parrot Trust (WPT) has sent emergency funds to aid in the treatment and housing of the largest group of illegally trapped Grey Parrots ever seized in the country of Cameroon. The seizure, which occurred in early February, is the third such confiscation of this species in the country since December 2007.

I believe my Pair of greys are sitting on 3 eggs and Hen rarely leaves nest Whilst ***** bird is standing guard, When is the best time to take hatchlings away from parents,and should I let parents rear them themselves . Thanks for any info

Lost African grey

My african grey went missing on 19th July 2009 from Tamworth Staffs. He is a deeply missed member of our family and we are desperate for his safe return. Please help me find my baby. Reward for safe return.

African Grey parrot

African Grey parrot has made his bid for freedom, at the age of 27 years! Went on 4th July 2009 (Independence Day.......). Last seen in Louth Lincolnshire on 5th July. Any sightings please let us know: we\'re sick with worry & miss him so much, after having him for almost 27 years - reward available for safe & live return.

WARM WEATHER WARNING

OK folks we are having some fantastic weather right now, however it is also a time we need to be more vigilant.

Along with warm weather comes doors & windows being opened more often. This is a prime time for our beloved pet birds to escape!!

Be more conscientious when letting your parrots out, make sure the kids are reminded to close doors etc, check your birds are safe in their cages & cannot let themselves out (we all know how good they are letting themselves out!).

Do everything you can to ensure they are safe & sound as it only takes a split second for them to slip through & opening & escape!

Also remember that birds with clipped wings can still escape & get further away in warmer weather as the hot air currents can carry them without much flying involved.

Pet Parrot Day

The Pet Parrot Party that has been spoken about the last two months is now to be held in conjunction with our P.S. Summer Show at Stafford on 28th June. On reflection it is the obvious venue, we have more than sufficient space to host this extra feature and during the summer the original idea of a marquee could have been very hot for the birds.
